Stimulate hair growth – 5 tips, home remedies & myths
Some people have to go to the hairdresser every two weeks because their hair grows so fast, while others can't get it fast enough... Want to give your hair a little boost? Say no more. In this article, you'll learn everything about natural hair growth and how you can support your hair's growth.

What you can do for faster hair growth
Whether your stylist was a bit too optimistic with the scissors, you're keen on a new look, or you're struggling with hair loss – sometimes our hair just can't grow fast enough. Maybe you look enviously at your friend's full mane and wonder what their secret is... Well, our hair growth is quite individual and influenced by a variety of factors – to name just a few: your age, gender, hormone levels, diet, and (how could it be otherwise) your genetics.

How does hair grow?
On average, head hair grows 1-1.5 cm per month – or up to 15 cm per year . That's not a lot, but it's not a small amount either. But in case it helps: men's hair grows faster than women's hair. Our hair growth is a complex process that takes place in three phases – the so-called hair cycle. Did you know that each hair follicle has its own growth cycle? This means that not all hairs grow or fall out at the same time. Because of this temporal shift, the number of hairs on your head usually remains stable. Thankfully!
5 tips to accelerate hair growth
We've all been there. Sure. Patience is a virtue, but beautiful hair is also amazing. If you search for it on your favorite search engine, you'll quickly realize that there are all sorts of myths, home remedies, and overpriced products that promise to make your hair grow at least 5 cm in two months. And as nice as that would be, that's usually a waste of money. That's why we've compiled the best tips for you to help your hair growth get off to a good start.

1: Avoid alcohol, stress and heat
Yes, yes... The annoying topic... Alcohol can certainly be fun in moderation, but unfortunately it's still not so great for our organism: It slows down your metabolism and can therefore slow down hair growth.
Stress is similar: When your body is under stress, it releases certain hormones, such as cortisol, also known as the stress hormone. An increase in cortisol in the body can lead to constriction of blood vessels, which can lead to a reduced supply of nutrients to the hair follicles and thus slow growth.
Want to rock long hair? Then you should avoid using hair dryers, straighteners, and the like as much as possible. The heat dries out your hair unnecessarily and can lead to breakage.
2: The right diet
A healthy diet with sufficient protein, iron, and vitamins is key for good hair growth. So make sure you consume enough protein through nuts, seeds, and legumes, as well as iron-rich foods like spinach, kale, or beets. If you suspect a nutrient deficiency is responsible for your hair loss, you can ask your doctor for a blood test and recommend targeted supplementation if necessary.
3: Oil treatments
Oil I want is you? Yes, please! Oil treatments can help stimulate hair growth by supplying the scalp with essential nutrients and moisture. Certain oils such as castor oil, jojoba oil, and coconut oil contain fatty acids and vitamins that can condition and strengthen the scalp and hair follicles. When these oils are massaged into the scalp, it can increase blood circulation and promote hair growth. On top of that, oil treatments can help smooth and strengthen hair and reduce breakage, resulting in hair that looks healthier and thicker overall. But beware! Oil treatments are not for people who struggle with oily scalps and dandruff .
4: Healthy scalp, healthy hair
Do you love a good scalp massage at the salon? Well, we do too! Not only does it feel amazing, but it's also perfect for boosting hair growth. And of course, you can easily do it at home, too. A gentle scalp massage increases blood flow to your scalp, which in turn stimulates hair growth. Simply use your fingers or a brush to massage your scalp for a few minutes before washing your hair.
5: The right hair care – Support hair growth with the right products
Make sure to choose hair care products that gently cleanse, don't stress your scalp, and actively promote hair growth. A mild shampoo is ideal for thoroughly washing out residue from styling products like pastes or gels —especially important if you use products daily.
For targeted strengthening of the hair roots, we recommend our Activator Hair Shampoo: The combination of caffeine, Capilia Longa™, and a vitamin complex of biotin, panthenol, and niacinamide provides gentle cleansing, promotes scalp circulation, and optimally prepares your hair for the Activator Hair Tonic. This tonic perfectly complements your hair care routine by stimulating the hair roots, supporting hair growth, and giving fine, thinning hair new strength and body.
